“I haven’t been briefed on the exact offences that are the subject of the charges. It is my assumption that they relate to either storage, ammunition, registration licensing,” Police nMr Stevens said when asked about the specific charges relating to firearms at the Yunta homestead.“Anyone who holds a firearms licence has to demonstrate they have a genuine need for the firearm. In order to obtain firearms you have to have that approval.

🚨 The Mystery Deepens In The Gus Lamont Case: Newly released photos have intensified public attention after authorities revealed what search teams encountered when deploying specialist dogs and a helicopter in the hunt for the missing boy.
The disappearance of Gus Lamont has gripped the local community for days, with volunteers and law enforcement combing vast stretches of bushland and waterways. According to police, the latest phase of the search focused on a rugged area several kilometers from where Gus was last seen. The terrain — thick scrub, uneven ground, and scattered rock formations — made ground searches slow and methodical.
Specially trained search dogs were brought in early in the morning to track any remaining scent trails. Handlers reported that the dogs showed brief signs of interest near a narrow path leading toward a creek bed. That development prompted officers to widen the perimeter and call in aerial support.
A police helicopter equipped with high-resolution imaging circled overhead for hours, scanning clearings and tree lines that would have been nearly impossible to inspect from the ground. The newly released photos, captured during the coordinated effort, show officers marking specific points of interest with bright tape and setting up temporary command posts in the field.

In one image, investigators can be seen examining disturbed earth near a fallen log. Authorities have not confirmed whether the disturbance is directly connected to Gus’s disappearance, but forensic teams were observed collecting samples and documenting the site carefully. Another photo reveals emergency responders navigating dense brush, highlighting the challenging conditions they faced.
Police emphasized that the release of the images is intended to maintain transparency and encourage public cooperation. “Every piece of information matters,” a spokesperson said. “If anyone recognizes locations shown in these photographs or recalls unusual activity in the area, we urge them to come forward.”
Community members have responded with a mixture of hope and anxiety. While the intensified search signals continued commitment, the scale of the operation underscores the seriousness of the situation. Volunteers remain on standby, ready to assist if authorities expand the search zone further.
As investigators analyze the findings from this latest effort, the mystery surrounding Gus Lamont’s disappearance only deepens. Officials reiterate that the case remains active and that no conclusions have been reached. For now, the search continues — driven by determination to uncover answers and bring clarity to a family waiting for news
